Would a 2 1/2" screw work for edge joining a 2" board to a 2" board? I basing this on this chart: ScrewSettings.pdf

If not, what options would you use?

Thanks for any replies.

If you're working with softwood boards, a 2 1/2" screw will be sufficient. If you're using hardwood, we recommend setting your jig for 1 1/8" material and using a 1 1/2" find-thread screw.

I'm using pine, softwood boards.

Thank you for the reply.

In a simple structure, and non-load bearing, 1-1/2" long screws will suffice, spaced 2" from the end and at 6" apart.

Not Pleased With Pocket Hole Construction
