Down_Draft_Ezplan.pdf   I was looking at Rockler this morning and noticed they had a free plan for a downdraft table so I wanted to share this with everyone.  I have seen people have used pegboard for the top, but I'm thinking that you could use MDF for the top and just drill a series of holes in it?  Maybe for a non-marring surface you could put rubber grommets in the holes.

HAHA sry a dont understand the first qustion of you ,  is good mdf

Quite alright, it's early yet!

Justin, I made one with the peg board on top and I basicly used rocklers plans I added a t track to one side to help hold down pcs while sanding, it does a good job in eleminating alot of the dust you get while sanding, and while sanding something like a cabinet door the suction holds the pc in place

Ya I want a bigger one but I have to wait till spring when I add on.

Ray, I'm glad to see it works, I'm dying to build one and also get a drum sander too.

David, glad we get to build one!!

I used some thick peg board (commerical type used in stores) and then laminated a piece of heavy duty counter top laminate to the top.  Flipped it over and drilled out all the peg board holes in the laminate.  Been using it better than five years and no problems and no damage to the project and or the table from the "still running sander" you set down early, reaching for the cup of early morning coffee.    A sanding table is definate a good thing to have for keeping the dust down and out of the lungs.

I recently found a piece of heavy plastic type 3/8 thick peg board that I have set aside for a new top when I get around to it.  It is used in display racks of commercial stores.
