I scored a craigslist find here is a  Reliant 14 bandsaw sat in the guy basement in new condition.  Got it for $75 dollars.

Gary if you are planning on keeping the saw then it would be worth it,  I am sure they work somewhat like carters guides and they really improve the cutting ability of all the band saws I have seen them on.  I did find the tires and wheels of the reliant on e-bay so they are still available is you ever need one.  From the looks of the saw when you posted it, it is not a bad looking saw that looks to be in great condition.   I know I would replace the guides with the ball bearing guides if I was going to keep the saw.  If not and planned on trading or selling it, I would just put into good working shape and trade or sell it.

Do you think I should upgrade to the ball bearing guides if possible?

Nice find, Gary.

Hope it works for you, on your saw.

I found a part that is being sold as replacement part for the Twains clone band saw here is a picture just looks like mine. If it works they also sell for $84 ball bearing guides to replace the bumper guides.

The part came today fit perfectly I'll order the ball bearing guides next week same company.

Gary,

Hope your new parts and saw are working fine for you.

Have you made any satisfactory "rip-cuts"?

How's it working out for making 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4" strips, from 4" wide stock?

Are you able to get consistant thicknesses?

Just used it to cut notches with miter gauge worked well doing that .  Don't have a rip fence yet.  Thanks for asking Ken.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
