I think my 10" Hitachi Miter Saw might be a degree or two off. Not too big a deal for the basic workbench I'm making, but I want to do a headboard and bed frame, too. Any suggestions about how to get it to cut true? Thanks in advance!

The typical way to check a saw for square is to get a nice planned bit of timber and cut it and 90 degrees then flip over one side and but the two pieces of timber together and see how much its off.... use this to work out which direction it is off.... then at the back of the fence there should be a couple allen head bolts.. typically you will undo some of these and move the fence the slightest bit ... (we are talking a mm or two) and tighten then retry till you get a perfect 90 cut :)

Thanks for your help, guys. One minor adjustment later & things are much better.
