Kreg Owners' Community

I am brand spanking new to this forum. I am a moderate woodworker. I have a table saw, router, kreg jig (obviously), band saw, mitre saw, jaw horse,... the only thing I "might" need some day is a biscuit joiner. GOD BLESS MENARDS!  Anyways, I am attempting to build my own base cabinets for our home office. I am looking high and low for a basic set of base cabinet patterns. I am going to copy some of the ones already in my kitchen and alter some things I have seen in the past. I have a basic understaning of the face frames. I already built a trial face frame out of 1" aspen. I am somewhat lost as to the make up and design of the shell/box itself (including the kick plate). I have seen so many different ways to build them but no step by step blueprint /patterns. I am trying to build 7 cabinets that will span over 13'. Everything will be built out of oak. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I downloaded the Kreg Jig booklet: Basic Cabinet Making by Mark Duginske. Honestly I can't remember where I got it and I think it was free. I have found it for 4.99 several places. Maybe I did pay for it but it has been so long I can't remember. But if I did it has been worth every penny.

I may have found it through the Kreg website owners area. I can't find the log in page again either to tell you how to get there. But if you haven't joined at the Kreg website the owners area registration is here

It is a very thorough booklet and I have referred to it several times. I highly recommend it.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe someone else can tell you where to find it.

You might want to look at this site .There are numerous links to what you might want to use
Thank you very much. I actually downloaded that file. It was free with the new jig.

I have made my kickplates 3 1/2 in tall and 3 1/2 in. deep. I ran grooves with a 3/4 in. router bit 4 1/4 up from the bottom of the cabinet interior side so it sit flush with the top of toe kick. Next, I run a groove at the top of both sides so the top of the cabinet would sit flush with the sides, next a dado ran 1/2 in. in from the back of both sides with a 3/4 in. bit or a dado set, dado sets do make this much easier, this will be for your back panel. before assembly I drill from the inside out of the grooves and dados, predrilling for cab. screws, this way you aren't fishing from the outside, on interior cabinets this is fine to do since you wont' see the sides, the sides that are left exposed I make the same way, but leave enough hangover on the faceframe for a 1/4 in. veneered side that's glued on. For the face frames there are 3 ways, kreg jig, biscuits or dados/grooves. I find it easier to run grooves in all my faceframe material and just simply glue them on, the nice thing about that is if your ply isn't cut completely square or there's some tearout the ply is recessed in the faceframe.
Hey, I am looking for that basic cabinet guide mentioned here, anyone have a direct link? I joined the site listed in the provided link but can't find that resource anywhere.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
