I guess I'm to late to guess what it is. I was going to say a box drum, but you gave the answer out already..... LOL
Nice work and I like the finish really brings it out. I watched the video and shouldn't yours be a double box drum???
Oh trust me, I suck at it. I'll have to get video of my friend Larry playing it.

Love the color. Now h ow about a video of you playing? :)
Yes, this one I'm building is a double box drum. Hence the two holes and the divider.

Yeah, when I applied the Red Oak stain, it was gorgeous.

I think it should actually be called a "cajon". That's what it looks like to me anyway. The ones we sell at Guitar Center are much smaller.

Yeah, that is another name for it. I just called it a box drum because the guy I'm making this for called it one. YouTube has a bunch of videos entitled "Cajon."

Tomato, tomato...
And the final pic of it with gleaming polyeurothane on it:

Beautiful and unique project, Don! Thanks for sharing!
This will be a base box for a sound system
Take care
Terry

Miter Saw Recommendation

I’m looking to upgrade my miter saw. I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get one with the precision pocket hole joinery requires. Would anyone like to offer a recommended model?

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
