Anyone care to take a guess at what I'm building now? (And no, you can't just say a box with two holes in it. lol)

I guess I'm to late to guess what it is. I was going to say a box drum, but you gave the answer out already..... LOL
Nice work and I like the finish really brings it out. I watched the video and shouldn't yours be a double box drum???

Yes, this one I'm building is a double box drum. Hence the two holes and the divider.

Yeah, when I applied the Red Oak stain, it was gorgeous.

I think it should actually be called a "cajon". That's what it looks like to me anyway. The ones we sell at Guitar Center are much smaller.

Yeah, that is another name for it. I just called it a box drum because the guy I'm making this for called it one. YouTube has a bunch of videos entitled "Cajon."

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
