I just had to comment that this i one of the coolest looking tables I've seen. Unfortunately, i don't think it would good in my house, but I love the idea.

I actually got this wood at our local flea market. The man gets all his wood from the Amish up in Kentucky and sells it pretty cheap for solid oak. Probably only spent about $180 on wood which also included enough left over for two benches. This wood was from an old tobacco barn so it was all charred which made for a cool finish when sanded so i didn't need to stain it. I used a natural finish (Waterlox Tung Oil) to protect and seal it.
