Joan very nicely built the doors and the hidden hinges that you used but most of all is your choice
hickory my wife has a hickory kitchen that I built for her,
it is a good and very durable wood, will last for years
Thank you, Rita!
Joan, such a beautiful piece of furniture. Your choice of wood is excellent as well as the overall design. What a gift you have to be able to get some instruction from your Dad. Thanks for sharing your work and I look forward to seeing more from you!
Your work is really beautiful! As you know, I'm a beginner and the wood rack was one of the first things that I made. Found the plan in shopnotes magazine and it looked like a good way to organize all the wood scraps that my dad was going to give me. It has worked out well. I really like the sheet goods section that pivots in and out. I didn't like constantly having to move the wood when I needed to get to something that I just stacked it in front of! LOL with some hard work and guidance, I hope to be able to build beautiful projects like you have! :)
Thanks for the kind comments! Lorrie - I started woodworking a couple of years ago, "apprenticing" with my Dad who is a hobbyist (post-retirement) master craftsman. The time learning with him is priceless. The curved apron rails seems to be becoming a signature look for the pieces I've made. I need to make the wood storage unit you made - I could really use that in my shop!

Joan , very nice cabinet ,great design and finish, well done , thanks for sharing your project
Hi Joan - what a beautiful cabinet! I could use this in my house! I really love the curved bottom and sides. How long have you been doing woodworking? All of your projects are wonderful! Keep up the good work!
Jay - thank you for the feedback! I respect and appreciate your comments! This was a fun piece from start to (almost) finish, from drawing the plans to the selecting the wood to the first cut. It's been a learning experience (hickory is beautiful but brittle) and I've learned a lot along the way. All good! Thanks, David!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
