Thanks Doug. I took a look at your projects that you have posted. If your 'day job' doesn’t work out, you may have a career in woodworking ahead of you! Nice work. I'll be posting more pics of projects using my Kreg Jig soon, as well as my new Kreg Router Table-Thanks to Matt. I look forward to seeing your work here, and in other venues.
Arne, thanks for the kind words. For me this project was a design-as-you-go project where I only started with the dementions of a twin matress and went from there. The posts are laminated 3/4 cherry and the rails and stiles are the same. The pannels are 1/4 - 2 sided cherrry ply. they float and the head/foot are built similar to a cabinet door. I purchased some break down bed hardware at Rockler to put it all together. One design element I would change if I had it to do over again would be the height of the head board. I'd like it to be a little shorter but as I was building it I pictured a matress with a box frame under it so it would have been sitting 8 inches highter and that would have made up the diference. I have also considered drilling and contrast plugging holes, similar to a greene and greene pillow plug, in the posts, simply for design. Good luck on your project!
Beautiful, you have done an excellent job Kevin, thanks for sharing your work with us.
Very nice.
It is a twin. Since I don’t have a lot of time to spend in the shop, it took about two weeks. Finish is my new favorite part since it is no longer a mystery. Next project will be the garage cabinets but it will be much easier now that I have the Kreg precision router table (thanks Matt). I can’t say enough good things about this company. They build great, easy to use products for the ‘real’ world.
beautiful, is it a twin size? how long did it take to cut , build and finish. great job

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
