Hi,
My name is Tom. The wife started suggesting home improvement projects recently and I told her the pocket hole jig would make building new cabinets much easier. Got one! Happy Birthday to me.

Happy Birthday, Tom. Welcome to the Group & woodworking.
Perhaps a short (or not so short) list of other "necessary" tools to make building cabinets easier is now in order to help your wife with her Christmas, Anniversary and "Thank God It's Friday" or "Oh Gosh It's Another Monday" lists.
LOL...it never hurts to plan ahead.
ps....that last applies to most things having to do with woodworking...particularly safety!
Best of luck with the cabinets. Let us all see some pictures when you have gotten to that stage.

Hi Tom;
In preparing stock for a project, be sure the stock is square. Also in cutting stock be sure to measure for the cut you intend to make, at least twice. Also when using a tape measure use the same tape measure for all measuring.
To check if a project is square, like a drawer or carcus for a cupboard is square, use a tape measure and measure it diagonally at the corners. If this reading is the same, everything is square.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
