I designed and made this dog planter for my friend who lost her dog a couple years ago. I surprised her and made this from a photo she had given me a while back. she loved it! the heads moves back and forth to give it different looks. I used the Kreg Jig to put this together. worked great! glued wood on top to cover holes.

Thanks Oscar for the nice comment. :)
Hi Lorrie, this is a very creative and functional piece. Nice work!
Thank you Jay for the very nice comment! I had fun building this one. the lady was thrilled with it and she even put the dogs puppy collar on it. It felt really good to do something nice for her as she deserves it. I'm always looking for new projects to build and using the Kreg jig gives me the confidence that I can build them. Didn't think that I could build a single thing by myself. . let alone without a plan! LOL Maybe it is just because I don't know any better but it sure is fun figuring out how to build things and is extremely rewarding when they turn out the way I had envisioned it. :) I get more confidence with each thing that I build. thanks so much for the support and the willingness to reply to things I post. It is great to get feedback on the projects . . . good or bad. . . at least that way I will know what I am doing right and what to do if I am doing it wrong. I am still very much a beginner and cannot work as much as I would like to in the shop due to my work schedule. That is why these smaller projects are great! :)
Hi Lorrie, A mighty fine artistic piece of work. You are becoming better with each project that you build and one of the outstanding thing that I have seen in all of your projects is that you have completed them well and not one time did I ever see a comment from you that said, "do you got plans". What I have seen is a lot of very nice and well executed pieces of work. You are one who started with woodworking with out plans building some nice rolling cabinets for storage in your garage of which have seen several nice comments and also seen them "pinned" in Pinterest. There was a wood storage rack and a nice work bench with storage.
In your current posted project the art work is well done and the image quality compared to the photo is well done as you have captured a lot of the facial features from the dog. I am sure your Friend was very happy with the results. Keep up the good work and post more of your projects. Thank you for sharing this one.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
