Cabinet hardware jig knurled nuts loose

Just purchased the Kreg Cabinet Hardware Jig.  When assembling the jig, I installed the drill guide and attached the knurled nut.  The nut did not tighten the drill guide to the jig, but seemed to "bottom out".  The result is that the drill guide "floats in it's location>  Am I installing it incorrectly, or is this normal?  Any guidance would be much appreciated.See More
