Years ago my grandparents had a double Dutch door on their garage. Grandfather made it by altering the doors that already existed. He braced both doors on the inside with two by sixes across where he was going to make the opening leaving room for an armrest. He applied extra hinges to support the doors the way they would hang after he used a guide and circular saw to separate the two halves.
