"You could make something like this. http://www.woodsmithshop.com/download/412/multipurpose-shop-cart.pdf  Instead of the sandwiched top, you could use simple MDF and just modify the framing so you didn't have to cut dado's, rabbets,…"

"Not a rip cutter per se but a straight edge guide made from the factory edges of a 4x8 sheet of MDF.  I made a 4' and 8' guide for ripping down panels. "

"Is the only advantage of a tracksaw the straight edge?  I don't feel like spending the $$$ on a setup but I did a simple circular saw guide out of 2 pieces of MDF sandwiched and glued then I cut a straight edge on it.  It rides along…"

"Hugh, A kitchen bandsaw, can come in handy--- like in cutting thru bone. Much easier than using a dull knife. A chop saw would make a bigger mess."

Kreg plug jig

So I was bored today before work and decided to create a jig I could use to produce my own plugs. It's a sled design that I will use on my bandsaw.  Took a little tweaking to get the angles where they needed to be and make sure the plug was long enough so it was above the surface and able to be sanded down.So I cut it to length first then flip the dowel around to the right and insert it to the stop and repeat.…See More

Cutlist and sheet goods

So I'm in the process of cutting up my pieces for my wifes built in library/bookshelf.  I am using SketchUp with the Cutlist plugin.  I knew the way my shelving was laid out that that I would not be able to get 4 12" deep shelves out of a 48" wide sheet because of the kerf of my blade.  I figured my shelves out to 11.75".How can I make Cutlist understand this? It seems to be fine on the board side of the drawing but not the sheet goods. See More
