"Dave, A good bench vise is a necessity---locate this vise near one end of your HD work bench. Min 4'' wide jaws, swivel with lock.  The anvil feature is very useful. Second, a wood workers vise---locate this item near the center of…"

Kreg Klamp vice system

I am rebuilding a bench and I need to consider a vice.  Space is an issue and I am lookig at the kreg vice system.  One, has anyone used this as a replacement for a regular vice? Two I am thinking about mounting one on a side and another on the end, any thoughts? Bench top is a reclaimed wooden solid core commercial grade door about 2/1/2 in thick.   Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.  I do not have a wood vice now, so I can go either/or.See More

"Not too cold for me as my bedroom is my shop also. I will do all my main cutting outside on my back deck with my circular saw, but with my Shopvac hooked up to my mitre saw and Kreg Jig, I can do those in my room and keep the dust down."

"Yes, make sure you get a real fast corded drill that has at least 2000 rpm's for drilling pocket holes. A good cordless drill with 10-25 clutch settings for driving screws. Some will say you could use just a corded for both operations, but you…"
