To be honest, it was not a difficult project.  It is made from 'scrap' MDF and poplar from other projects.  The design inspiration was the bed (headboard and footboard) that we purchased a few years ago.  I too consider myself a newbie.  The folks from Kreg asked me if I would describe myself as a 'woodworker' and I had to tell them that I am just sombody who builds stuff.  I don't feel I have earned the title yet.  The best way to learn is to dive right in!

Very cool. Beautiful work.  Being a newbie myself,  what was the most challenging thing in the build ...?

My daughter requested a ‘secret’ compartment so I added a lock to the drawer and a false base with storage for her.  She was so excited! The top is cherry finished with poly and it just added a needed contrast to the white furniture in the room.  I will be building a matching desk and dresser in the coming months (as time allows)

Excellent attention to detail that makes this a unique piece. I especially like the contrast between the white body and stained top. I'm sure your daughter will appreciate all the time and effort that went into creating this beautiful nightstand.

Kevin for a first kreg project it looks like you have mastered the use of the jig.  This is very nice stand and would compete well in a contest.  Like your design and colors, they are very  complementary of each other.  The door and drawer is well made with your reveal in the fitting well executed. Im sure you daughter will be thrilled.  Keep up the excellent work.  Thanks for sharing your work.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
