Very nice job ! I like how the stain helps the woodgrain jump out...what brand of stain/finish ?

Thanks. I used Minwax wood finish Red Mahogany Carefully wiped to the shade desired. Allowed to dry 2 days then Applied 3 coats of Minwax fast drying Semi-gloss polyeurothane.

Very nice.  Looks like the plan from WOOD magazine a few months ago.  I made one like it but only chest high.  Is yours kinda top heavy?

That is strange,as I just finished the same one last week. This was done in aged oak stain.I tried the gel stain for the first time, and will never use it again on this type of project. It is best suited for flat surfaces, not where the gel can get "trapped" and difficult to wipe off!
