New workbench just completed. Used a solid core door for the main top
Comment
Here we go Gerry. The top is a 30"x 80" solid core door. I just added the drawers last night. I have bit of a design challenge - the power strip cord impedes the opening and closing of the top right drawer. I'm thinking I might be able to cut a small notch to channel it off to the side. The size makes for a great assembly table as well. I can also put a piece of 2" rigid insulation on the top and use a straight edge (Emerson All-in-one clamp) to rip large sheet goods. Works like a charm and keeps me from crawling around on my knees.
The vice works great, but is a fairly inexpensive one from harbor freight.
Post your pics when you get it done, would like to see it.
Nice work, Gerry. I am in the process of building a work bench also with the a solid core door as the top. Which bench vise is that on your work bench? I ordered a Jorgensen Woodworkers Vise from Amazon. I also am putting locking casters on mine as I have limited space (don't we all!) and I'm sure I'll have to move the bench around from time to time. I'll post pictures after I get it all together.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
