My First Kreg Project - Wall-Mounted Key, Magazine, & Mail Storage

My First Kreg Project - Wall-Mounted Key, Magazine, & Mail Storage

I've got four projects planned for this Summer, and since I'm a beginner I'm starting with the simplest. This is a basic wall-mounted organizer to reduce island clutter (mail, magazines, keys, wallets, etc...) in our kitchen.

I'm using select pine from Home Depot, and believe it or not I was able to find enough straight boards to build this thing :)

I'll continue to add photos as I make progress, but so far using my Kreg has been a pleasure – the basics are easy, now it's all about the art of planning and execution.

Well, as you can see I finished my first Kreg project pretty quickly. The finish work was the most time consuming (of course), and this actually fits in pretty well with my light maple cabs in the kitchen.

I'm excited to move on to my next project!

Thanks guys – I'm diggin' it :) Sanding the exterior plugs today and getting ready to apply some finish. Also scouting around on ebay for some interesting vintage hardware to use as key hooks. Fun times!

Looks great Jeff. I bet you surpass the four plans you have planned for the summer. Seeing  an idea going from plans to completion is a real motivator. Happy and safe woodworking.
