Big Green Egg

This a Big Green Egg table that I built for a friend of mine over the weekend. The table is made from cypress and the legs are red western cedar. The table has a granite top which was purchased off of craigs list for $50. There is not a single visible nail or screw on the whole project. Matter of fact, not a single nail was used. The entire piece was put together with the kreg jig and exterior screws. Total material costs, around $350.

I know that you said that you don't have plans. I do have a couple other questions for you. What type of finish did you put on the table that could handle the heat? My other question is would you happen to know how many board feet you used to build to build this awesome table?

Thanks
Mike

Hey Guys, really appreciate the interest in the table. Sorry for not replying sooner. I get so covered up in my work that I never get time to use the computer. Believe it or not, this is a one off. They are no plans. I followed a basic set of dimensions from the Big Green Egg website and built this from my head. I'd be more than happy to help in any way that I could if somebody is considering tackling this project. You have to be very creative when laying out a project this size with the intention of using the Kreg jig for the entire assembly. As I expressed in my notes, there are no visible screws on any surface.

I would love to see a copy of the plans as well!  I am going to try and do something similar for my weber kettle.

Great table Todd! I made one for a buddy this summer as well. I have pictures on my page if you want to check it out. I was on a 'budget' and just used 2x4's, 2x6's and plywood, but sprayed with spar varnish to help weatherize. I wish I would have seen yours first, I really like the storage on yours! Very cool!!!

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
