Front Room Built-In

I built a frame from 2X4s around a couple of flat files centered on a window. There won't be forward access on the left, so I built a top opening chest there. The chest is cedar lined, and the top is edge joined 1X6 pine. On the right there are two forward access openings, a small one for rolled paper, and larger with a sliding shelf. Two forward facing shelves to the ceiling on the left and right, and two interior facing shelves which are solid at the bottom to facilitate leaning against. There is a shelf that spans the width of the room by the ceiling. The shelves are MDF, except for the spanning shelf which is 3/4 ply. I used Kreg joints everywhere except for a lap joint at one place on the face frame, and tongue and groove on another part of the face frame.

I am wanting to replace my existing window seat with a new one.  The one I have now has lids that open up and the storage space is a mess.  I want to replace with drawers.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would like to tear out the old and build from scratch.

this is wonderful, looks professional! I'm building something similar, already have the windowseat, still need to build around it, having a hard time planning the shelving out since I only have one wall. Thanks for the detailed pics

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
