Since I bought the Rip Cut I have questioned the quality and design of the tool. It took me multiple times to get it calibrated. I then made one rip cut on 3/4" plywood with my 6 1/2" saw. It did not stay square and totally screwed up my wood. Never going to use that again. It should be all aluminum and they need a better way to mount the saw to the sled. No more screws and more secure.

I have had my rip cut for over a year and I have used it many times with no issues at all. It does a great job for me.
I would agree about the manufacture of the Rip Cut, but I have not had problems with it. I have cut domestic hardwoods with it as long as 18'. It stayed true through the cut. My worst line did get I/8" off on a couple of cuts until I learned what I was doing wrong. I would suggest that you try it again. When you are away from the shop it can be of immense help I believe.
Rip cut is a nice tool, but honestly most of the prof.. guys just use the cheaply made and easy to use RIP-Guide made out of two pieces of wood and clamps!
I have a rip cut and have used it many times without any issues at all. It has worked very well for me at all widths of rips up 2' wide, and a small as 2" wide. Sorry to hear you had trouble.
I recently used the RipCut for a number of cuts of various sizes. Whilst I agree that a better way to mount the saw should be found and aligning the gauge with the blade was fiddly, I found this device invaluable.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
