I drilled holes into a piece of 1x3 wood. I had the drill setting right, 1/2, but had the Kreg jig set too deep, 1 1\2.
so I reset the jig and drilled the same holes over the old ones. For some reason it drilled out some of the blue plastic and now it doesn't work right for any holes. Have I totally destroyed it? Has anyone else had this problem? I am very upset, I love my Kreg Jig!!!
Any advice?

Mary I did the same thing! Just clean up the face of bits of plastic for
your project to sit flat. Put it down to "learning curve".
Have fun.
Mary, as others have noted, you can still reset the entire system and the big hole in the plastic plate won't hurt the operation of the system. I have more than a few of such holes. They serve as a constant reminder to me to check and recheck that I have both the drill and the jig set correctly- that is to say for the same project depth. Just one of those things that happens to all of us...

Every now & then set the drill in the jig to make sure it doesn't "bottom out." Some people like to use a coin or washer set on the bottom of the jig to set the stop collar.

Happy woodworking!
A simple solution to help hold the stop collar is to grind a shallow flat area on the bit shank where the stop collar is adjusted in and make it long enough to enable you to move the collar in all the positions that you will need when setting for different wood selection thickness. Remove the set screw that comes with the collar, pitch it and go get a set screw of the same thread with a pointed tip. You will find your slipping collars will disappear. When selecting the screw get the one for the allen wrench as some still have the slot for a flat blade screw driver.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
