Kreg Owners' Community

Ok - since I (duh) started the other discussion about 2/4 stock before I actually thunk it through.

I am looking to build boxes for my pantry out of stock that's smaller than 1 X - how thin has anyone gone with a Kreg jig and what "gotchas" are there?

David, I've worked with materials down to 1/2" thick with my Kreg Jig. I was making drawer boxes. 1/2" is the thinnest material recommended for use with your Kreg Jig (take a look at your instructions). Just set the jig at the 1/2" setting, the drill bit at the 1/2" setting, and let her rip!

The only downfall of working with this size of material is that you can't plug the holes since the screw is so close to the surface.

P.S. Make sure you use pan-head screws, not the normal washer-head versions. Otherwise the screw will seat ABOVE the wood's surface. Good luck!
Thunk?
yeah - thunk....coulda said "done thunk it through" but didn't want to show my Alberta, Canada Colours too much.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
