Does anyone own or has anyone used the Shop Smith Mark V?  Looks like an interestingly diverse and compact machine to have...

I've had one for a number of years. It is a nice machine and very versatile. It’s really nice if you have a small shop area. The biggest drawback as I see it, is having to change from one set up to another. But again if you have limited space it is ideal. It does require a 30 amp breaker. Runs fine on a 20 amp but on start up, or if you have a bind it pulls extra current and the 20 amp may trip.
I've had a shopsmith for several years. It's very versatile and allowed me to make eveything I've wanted to make and i haven't really used it to its full potential. Now that I'm retiring, I'm going to do even more with it. I've made furniture, rocking horses, jewelry boxes, shelves, lawn furniture, picture frames, plant stands, wooden bowls, etc. It's been great for me.
