Kreg Owners' Community

Visited the local Sears store the other night here in Wausau, Wisconsin to see what they had in Kreg accessories.  It's a fairly large store.

Turned out they had nothing.  Talked to 3 employees in the tool department.  None of them ever heard of the Kreg Jig.  In fact one of them said "I've been here 20 years and I've never heard of a Kreg Jig".   One of them said maybe I'd have to go to a special woodworking store to get one.  ( I told him that I already have the jig but was looking for accessories).

All the local home improvement stores here have the Kreg but not too much in accessories.

Mistakenly, I thought Sears would be the place for these.  Maybe a Kreg Sales Rep should start hitting on these guys.

Anyway, that was my "Sears Experience".

My home depot does not carry kreg products at all.

I had a similar experience at my local Home Depot. Three of their associates looked at me as if I was an alien that had just beamed into their store when I asked for the location of their Kreg Jigs and its accessories. I finally after several minutes found a very small display in the hand tool section!

I was delighted while visiting Lowes the same day that their staff knew about the Kreg Jig and was pleased to direct me to their large Kreg and pockets joinery section!

there's a real easy way to find out where they sell kreg products--the kreg website has a "buy local" search function.

I have gotten better deals at Rockler than anywhere else.  Bought the Kreg jig and it came with the screw kit during the Christmas holiday, plus free shipping.    That beat everybody else.

Fins59 try Menards.  I bought my Kreg there and they had a fair number of accessories and many screw types.

D S....I live at Menards, lol.  I bet I'm there at least 3 times a week.  I bought my Kreg Jig K4 at Menards a couple years ago.  At our Menards they just have the jigs, screws, and a few of the clamps.  In fact, right now the screws are 15% off so I replenished my stock.  I thought that Sears, having such a large tool dept, would have Kreg accessories such as the T channels, multi measure, fence clamps, workbench clamps, etc. but they had nothing.  I know I can order these online but sometimes it's nice to be able to handle the stuff in hand at the point of purchase.  Our Home Depot has 1 Kreg Jig tucked away in a corner along with those little containers of screws.  We have a Lowes about 25 miles away.  I might try them for accessories.  Someone mentioned Ace Hardware.  I might try there also.  BTW I just got a Rockler catalog the other day.....reminds me of the toy catalog I used to look at when I was a kid.

Same thing happened to me.  I then went to Home Depot and asked the guy if he had a Kreg Jig and he thought I was asking him if I knew where my husband was.....(HUH? )      These instances were both in the tool departments.  Maybe I should be working there.  The girl in Sears had no idea what I was talking about and same with the guy at Home Depot.  Got mine at Lowes, where they showed me right where they were located.
YMMV on ACE stores having any Kreg goodies.  I've never seen Kreg in the ACE stores I've visited in GA & TX.
I went to the site and my local home center is on it but manager never heard of a kreg jig. Keep asking and still not heard anything about selling kreg products.

i too went to a sears store  for a kreg jig  they had no idea    i was kind of suprised by the craftsmen tools i just got into woodworking and thought iwould go with craftsmen tools    kind of kicking myself now as quaility just isn't there like it was when i was a kid

Got a chuckle out of that one..  When I asked the Sear's lady cashier about "Kreg Jig", she said "who"?

Don't know how many of you guys/gals have a Menards store nearby, but a gal in tool dept here at our store said she actually had to attend a class/seminar on the Kreg Jig and she teamed up with another employee to make a Kreg project.

In addition to Woodcraft, my local Lowe's store also sells a pretty good selection of Kreg stuff
This sounds like Sears.  They have not kept up with the times and the Craftsman items are not what they used to be.  Too many items made in China.
