I have suspended a power cord from the ceiling over the workbench, one less this to trip over. I'm not sure if it will get in the way when I'm working on bigger projects or not.
Off to go make some bench dogs.
I like your work top---very nice.
Some very useful features, you have incorporated.
Looks like you've got everything pretty much covered, in your new work bench.
The elongated slots, will sure come in handy, when using articulated…"
Our kitchen bar counter is not much different and has held up fine. It has three triangular support blocks underneath. I do not have any measurements at the moment, but if you wish i could snap some pics and take a…"
"Time for an update!
The next part of the workshop that I wanted to tackle was a workbench. I couldn't decide on a size or style of workbench for a while and after deliberating I settled on an assembly table design from…"
"I would suggest a cross cut sled for your tablesaw. They are very useful and can be used safely with even small work pieces. Some designs allow for quite a long length of board to be supported and if you add a stop block setup and repeatability is a…"
"I agree with Jay, go with hardwood for the face frame etc. and pre-veneered ply for the panels and shelves. Assuming you are using pocket holes, there are some good tips on cabinet construction and I believe a video specifically n making a…"
"Interesting article, although rather brief. I was hoping for more info on when to choose between the two for tricky cuts. If I had to choose only one it would definitely go with a table saw. The variety of cuts available on the table saw, especially…"
"Thanks, but it's not my plan. It comes from ShopNotes magazine, issue #94.
The dust collection works better than I expected and it is a pleasure to work on this size of table. Have a look at the other photos in my gallery to see it…"
"Looks like a nice saw. I have a much older Sears saw that I got used for $250. That did include the Biesemeyer fence and two miter gauges, but only a 1 1/2 HP motor and no safety guards. Even if the motor is slightly over rated you should be fine,…"
I have only drilled a few sample holes - just to see how well the system works - great.
-- As for brake pads, I just replaced the rear pads on my GS. I was returning from a trip and could hear some scraping. Upon inspection, I couldn't see any facings. I had just had a 12K service done before the trip - and upon inquiring - "yes, we check the pads". BS!!! 3000 highway miles and nothing left - they didn't check! At least I didn't ruin the disc.
--First woodworking project will be some storage shelves - then it is on to installing some (more) laminate flooring - no need for the Kreg system there.
--We were to have departed for a mc campout today, but it'll just have to wait until the morning.
After being disappointed with my Kreg Foreman I sold it and got a Porter Cable 560. It was a decent jig and performed with decent results. Then a friend who is also a Kreg dealer told me about the K5.i bought one and set it up. I must say it's…Continue
I really like the k5 it is faster to change from different size of screws. I hesitated to update because of some of the reviews about the dust collection hook up. That to me one of the improvements it works perfect no dust to cleanup .…
