My brother Dan can get a little bored at work, and yesterday was no exception. He sent me an email in the morning saying he visited craigslist.com and came across this band saw. It's a vintage 1953 Craftsman band saw being sold in Burnsville for $110. He sent me pics of it and said it was in FINE condition. I called the guy and sure enough, it was still for sale. I told him I'd be by after work.

It's a good thing I work in Burnsville because this guy was basically in my back yard. Upon arriving, I was shown this all-metal machine and quickly paid the man. I really don't think he knew what he was selling. The stand alone, according to my brother, could easily sell for $50-60 by itself. Lugging it into the back of my truck, it was soon home in my garage waiting for my next woodworking project.

This has nothing to do with using a Kreg Jig, I just wanted to share the joy of my new purchase. Enjoy!!

Don

Classic and elegant band saw machine.  This picture should be posted at a vintage machinery site.

Natalie, I know a guy who has six and wants to sell. He lives in MN, would that help?

So cool! I love the look of vintage stuff. I think that my Dad would absolutely love to find a band saw for sale like this (http://www.woodworkingmachineryandsupplies.com/category_s/314.htm)

anthony i would list it on craigslist, add a picture and be willing to accept reasonable offers and youll sell it. you need to include amps, throat and resaw height

I recently inherited an old Montgomery Ward band saw but it is really too big and heavy for my shop. What would be the best way to sell it? It weighs a ton, the base is 1x1 1/4" angle iron.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
