My brother Dan can get a little bored at work, and yesterday was no exception. He sent me an email in the morning saying he visited and came across this band saw. It's a vintage 1953 Craftsman band saw being sold in Burnsville for $110. He sent me pics of it and said it was in FINE condition. I called the guy and sure enough, it was still for sale. I told him I'd be by after work.

It's a good thing I work in Burnsville because this guy was basically in my back yard. Upon arriving, I was shown this all-metal machine and quickly paid the man. I really don't think he knew what he was selling. The stand alone, according to my brother, could easily sell for $50-60 by itself. Lugging it into the back of my truck, it was soon home in my garage waiting for my next woodworking project.

This has nothing to do with using a Kreg Jig, I just wanted to share the joy of my new purchase. Enjoy!!

Classic and elegant band saw machine.  This picture should be posted at a vintage machinery site.

So cool! I love the look of vintage stuff. I think that my Dad would absolutely love to find a band saw for sale like this (

anthony i would list it on craigslist, add a picture and be willing to accept reasonable offers and youll sell it. you need to include amps, throat and resaw height

I recently inherited an old Montgomery Ward band saw but it is really too big and heavy for my shop. What would be the best way to sell it? It weighs a ton, the base is 1x1 1/4" angle iron.

Replacing existing slides but cannot remove drawer front

The Kreg slides are made to work with new drawers before putting on the drawer front. In my situation, I cannot remove the existing fronts which means when reversing the jig to hold the draw, it’s at an angle. Not sure what I should do to make them…Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
