Hi Jim, thanks for the welcome. I'm from the south Dayton area. Like you, I am looking forward to creating something new, instead of polishing or updating someone else's work. I think I am a little more concerned with the finish work (stain, paint, etc) now after hearing more and more about how easy the Kreg Jig makes joinery. Only time will tell!
