Hi rob ,marty got the idea for the sled from me .I got it from steve ramsey on woodworking for mere mortals .Punch in woodworking for mere mortals on your computer when the site comes up you should see various project videos come up look for tablesaw sled,steve runs you thru the process of building one hope this helps .Regards mick.

Hello David,
What you do not see are the two track/fixtures attached to the bottom of the base.
These tracks fit in the two miter slots of the table saw. So the tracks keep the sled exactly at 90 degrees. Then by placing your lumber against the front fence you will receive perfect 90 degree cuts everytime....with complete safety. Of course, the blade has already pre-cut the base, so you have a "guide" to set up with.

I making a hex ring out of 2x4s ripped to 2 ¾ inches wide with 30 degree miters. What setting on the Jig should I used? 1 ½ is too much. Thanks.Continue
