Hi Al,  It is always nice to see you, and I do thank you for taking the time to view the project and for the nice compliment.  yes it is something of which keeps the scraps of expensive lumber out of the land fills and give someone some enjoyment of ownership.  I have been teaching a woodworking class here on Saturdays beginning right after labor day and runs through Christmas to the neighborhood and some of their friends.   They give their gifts to the elderly in nursing homes and also to children whom are needy.  That way I keep people interested in woodworking and it another way of getting rid of my wood scraps and turning them in to an educational and worthwhile event.  Last year there were a few of these boxes made and I expect some more will be done this year as well.

Hi Ron,  Well this ducky could have brought me in a hundred dollar bill.  Another customer was visiting me in the shop while I was building this and offered me a hundred dollars for it.  He did leave me his phone number in case I had time to do another one.  It is something that might become a good sideline and the duck business might even boom.  This is the logo for the Oregon Ducks who always rank high with fans here in the Northwest

Thank you, Ron for your nice compliment.

Hello Jim,  It was an opportunity to make something for a birthday gift.  I have built several of these for tool storage on some of my smaller items that always seem to find hiding places in the shop and then drive you nutts trying to find them when you need them.  This solved that issue for me.  I also have several that I use in my computer repair as when I tear down a computer I gives me a place to store the parts until I need them.  I have made several for gifts and they are especially popular for kids and even as those who collect things as a hobby.  Some of these I have taken time and engraved a photo of someone on the lid and I have made some money doing this.

Thank you for the nice comments as I posted this to give others an idea for using up scraps.
