lol. The days of leaving a pie in the window to cool are long gone I guess.
Word of mouth mainly. I'll make a couple pieces every year for charity events or fund raisers. I also distribute cards everywhere I can.
When I started this buisness, I vowed to do it right. No cheap partical board furniture. Bring back the dove tail. And the best part... A lifetime warranty with every piece of hardwood furniture. Before our time, furniture came with a lifetime warranty. People stood behind what they do. Now, it's all about getting as much money as you can with as little effort as possible. That just ticks me off. Once you explain to people for example.... "You can have that laminated presswood coffee table from company XYZ for $300.00, OR, I can custom make you the same size table, how YOU want it to look, out of hardwood WITH a lifetime warranty, for $360.00"... well, I win every time.
I've only been taking pictures of my work for little over a year now. Oh how I wish I would have started sooner. Part of the "Signature" in Harrison Signature Woods, is that I add a secret compatment in any piece I can (without telling the customer until I deliver it). Everyone loves that, or at least has up to this point.
Going the extra mile, and standing behind what you do will make anyone successful.
This was made out of 7' 1x3 pallet slats. A friend of mine works at a plant down town and brings home all kinds of scrap material. I had less than $60. in cost in making it. I love it when someone wants something distressed or "old" looking. It general means I can use waste, scrap, or the boogered up stuff you wouldn't normally use..... And yet, I think it looks pretty good too.
Thanks Hal.
The customer that ordered this took me to an antique store and showed me the pie safe she wanted. It was slightly smaller (about 6"less in width and 4"less in height). It also had punched tin in the doors. I made it to her specs, and used chicken wire instead of tin.
Pie safes come in a wide range styles and dimensions. Some look like large cabinets (like this one), and some can even look like a typical stand up dresser.

Personally, I don't care what they want to call it....Just as long as they keep ordering :)

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
