By the way my neighbor ask me what color was I going to paint.  I said I didn't know 2 minutes later he came over with leftover stain from his deck so that where the stain came from.

Gary that is a very nice planter that is attractive and out of the normal for what you fine in a planter.  There is a lot of money to be made making the simple things that you can sell for a fair price.  I have several from my neighborhood that come here often, at least a couple times a month and I have been teaching them some basic woodworking.  Some are making money from the craft. making gifts and selling them as fast as they can make them.  Another guy and his wife make toys to give away at Christmas to the kids who have none.  It is also nice as I put my extra wood scraps to good use.  That is what is nice about woodworking as you do not have to build high end custom projects to make money as there is always a market out there all ways someone who needs what you build.

I took Your advice Jay I started a second planter. This planter I'll do as a project to show how its built. Thanks Jay ,Rita , and Jim for your kind comments. They seem to sell at craft fairs. However my wife already has told me I have to make one for an anniversary present for her parents.

Gary this sure is an attractive looking planter.  The red stain finish will really set off the flowers.  Like the brick background as well.  Thank you for sharing.
