Made this simple cabinet for my son .Its to store his sweatshirts ,he is a P.E /school coach/ teacher so got plenty of sports tops. The idea of the open front is so he can select a top and just pull it out without pulling the lot out.The side panels are made of laminate flooring which was leftover when we replaced our floor, has anyone else used laminate flooring for a furniture project?

Hi ray,i actually used old skirting for a coffee table top.Pictures of the table on my page the grain looked really nice, but it was alot of sanding.

Micheal, I often thought about using flooring as a top for a coffee table or end table, as a matter of fact I have a small work bench that I covered with tounge and groove oak flooring that was left over from a floor that someone I knew had left over.

Nice job Michael the flooring does accent the cabinet .

I haven't but had thought of using laminated flooring over mdf for desk top then wrapping edges with hardwood.
