Mud room bench with shoe storage shelves. It's structure is made from reclaimed scrap 2x4s salvaged from a burn pile. The sides, bottoms, and top are birch plywood (1/2" for the sides and backs, 3/4" for the bench and shelves). Face frame is 1/2" poplar, joined with the Kreg Micro Pocket Drill Guide (save money on 3/4" material -- use 1/2" and the Micro!). Face of the plywood bench top is done with maple edge banding. Finish is 3 coats of amber shellac.
