Most of the woods I mill are for my own use, but I do sell some slabs when someone needs something special.

David,

Gandberg International make's the Alaskan mills that you can bolt your chainsaws to.  They have different versions depending on the power of your saw.  Here is their web address.  Every time you open a tree it's like getting a present! :-)  http://granberg.com/

If your father-in-law has a tree trimming business, I'm sure he has plenty of good species you could get for milling.  The hard part of milling is letting the wood dry 1yr.  per inch.

Hi Tony,

This chainsaw mill (CMS) is what I built for milling lumber from trees.  You probably won't see another one like this because it does not use a conventional chainsaw.  The power head is a 134cc industrial motor that has been in production since about 1964, and the rest of the mill and components I built from scratch including the fuel/bar oil tanks.  Mongomery Wards and a few other chainsaw manufacturers actually used this motor as their power plants.  

 My mill has a 50" bar, but by the time it is bolted to the milling frame I can get 45" wide cuts which is plenty big for me.  If you look in my page under videos you will find a clip I posted from when I first got the mill running.
