Oak plugs have been inserted, glued and sanded. Later I took the large pieces to an Amish woodworker who sanded them all down for me. Only cost me $25 for a lot of work.

Comment by Rod on October 13, 2009 at 8:35am: Yes, the plugs were sanded as well with their huge belt sander. Made it easy. Thanks for the link. I actually have the DVD showing this but had forgotten. I have some plugs to do today so I am going to try it.

Comment by Derek on October 13, 2009 at 7:51am: Did Amish gentleman sand down the plugs for you too, or did you do that yourself? KregRep posted a good technique for doing this, here. That's the technique I'm going to use if I ever need to do it... so far I've always been able to hide them pretty effectively.
