This is the Zia Sun Symbol, I carved it out using wood chisels. Next time I will make a pattern and use a router. I stained the center of the symbol with Minwax Red Oak so there would be more contrast.

I use to live in Albuquerque and this is a wonderful little bench.  I have kitchen chairs with those step up cuts like you put on the table.  A very beautiful job.  Do you share plans?

Frank, very eye catching and well done.  I especially like the design of the bench done in oak.  The cuts of the the bench apron is a excellent thought out design.  The back is also a eye catching and with the symbol really makes this a "one of a kind"  piece.  The symbol lends to that of New Mexico State which has furniture that this reminds me of.  Excellent work and thank you for posting.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
