- I'm Harriet and I watched my father use his tools to make things when I was a kid. I would watch him for hours. When I was 15, I was at the lumber yard with my mother, and saw plans for a picnic table. My father was away on business. Mom bought and the plans and the wood and for the next week, I worked on that project. I completed it and was proud of what I did. My dad came home and saw it and he asked me how I knew what to do and I told him, "from watching you." I used his electric hand saw to cut the wood on a saw horse. I used his old manual hand drill I'd seen him use a hundred times to make started holes for screwing in screws and used a screws driver to put the pieces to together. From then, I have always been a woodworker. Self taught, learning from books etc. KREG was an enlightenment. My last project was a small computer table I made with Kreg joints for a local non-for-profit group I belong to . I don't have a picture of it, but I have seen lots of photos of small tables on this site. Nothing special, just a utilitarian rectangular table with legs.
