Shut the Box game made from plans at Wood Working for Mere Mortals. I used cherry and purple heart, thought the purple heart has begun to change to a deep red (and will eventually end up brown.)

Jake, that it my understanding. From what I have read, a clear lacquer is the best way to slow the change, but eventually, it will turn brown. This was my first use of purple heart and in the two weeks between buying it and using it, it had changed from purple to the red.
