Thank you, for the most part I used the fine threaded screws. I did use the course thread screws for the plywood attachments. The molding wasn't difficult just labor intensive. It is cut in multiple parts. I would run a 1X3 over the router table to shape the edge then cut the shape free plus 1/4" on my table saw. A pin nailer makes assembly much easier.
I like your bookcase! Did you use the fine screws? I wish I could do molding like you.
I adapted the plan from Wood Magazine's bookcase trio plan. It's a basic plan with three different finish treatments. I used Kreg pocket hole joinery. The carcass of the case is furniture grade 3/4" domestic red oak plywood as are the shelves. I used 1/4" red oak bead board for the back. Everything else I used 4/4 solid red oak. I don't mind using furniture grade plywood as it saves having to worry about seasonal movement.
do you happen to have the plans for this beauty ? Very nice look book case.
you so lumber, so no plywood ?
Nice looking design and trim features.
I'm planning a tall bookcase system that will be gun safe. I won't be able to do the molding the same way but I am designing it in a traditional style .
Great Job! Love all the molding!
...where the whole bookshelf would swing open
now THAT is nice, very nice. Would like that built into a wall and used as a concealed door for a access to a secret room
Thanks!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
