Comment by Dreamcatcher Design & Build on September 30, 2010 at 10:08am: It is a common misconception to believe that amish do not use electric drills in their woodworking. Although the precise rules vary amongst the different sects of amish, the general ruling on electricity is that they cannot use electricity supplied by the electric power grid. So in a typical amish woodshop you will often find every power tool that is in any other modern woodshop (think CNC) but their power is supplied by large diesel generators. So don't be so naive about the amish anymore!
