As promised here is the headboard and footboard attached to my daughters metal bed frame. I had to countersink and drill through the legs to attach the bolts and nuts to the metal frame. Hated to do that but sometimes you have to improvise.

JON , very nice looking bed , goes well with the hard wood flooring ,a job well done , your daughter should be very proud of dad and her bed !!! Maybe you could try button hole plugs in the holes you had to drill for the bed frame , thanks for sharing , JIM !!!
