You learn what works.  Really, do you know nothing about education?  Or did you start painting masterpieces right off the bat?

There is an old saying.  Don't reinvent the wheel.  Also, life is too short to make all the mistakes yourself.  And finally, never stop learning and being open to new information.

I'm sure he has his reasons, and

for reasons, mentioned in previous posts.

 

Why not each come up with their own methods of design and workmanship?

There are numerous ways of coming up with a similar design.

Personally, I don't think Maurice Richard's should publish any plans for his project.

 

If he chooses to not post plans, so be it---

why berate the person for not posting plans.

 

He's posted a photo of his project, and it has stimulated some viewers.

Just look at the photo, study it, and go from there.

 

Many may not possess the tools or skills needed to accomplish the tasks that Maurice used.

Many books are available on todays market---

visit your local home centers, woodworking stores, library, and the internet---

peruse the photos, illustrations and verbage,

for various projects.

 

Many woodworkers make their own plans.

Some get an idea, make a few sketches, note the dimensions,

and start cutting away---and build as they go,

using readily available on-hand materials.

 

One idea begets another.

 

Personally, I put my ideas down on paper and make sketches, before going to the drawing board and making cuts.

Hello Kreg Forum,

I have been following the currnet thread of posted comments on this item, and I have to say as a new comer to this forum and a beginner to wood working, I am a bit suprised at the type of back and forth dialogue. The reason for my original request for the plans, was to ensure that it would be constructed properly so as to not screw it up, especially when you have to invest some money. Personally speaking, if I don't have a set of plans first I would not start the project at all. As one would not know how much wood, trim or hardware is required. I would agree that one could complete a project just from a picture (professional), but that will not gurantee the same outcome as the photo image.  I propose we give Maurice Richard some time to at least inform everyone if he can provide plans or not. If so, then all the raving reviews will be well earned. If not, I will move on. One thing is for sure, when the project I am planning to built and is complete I will ensure that plans are provided to whoever would like them. Hey, at the end of the day we are here to help each other. Till next time, have a great day everyone.
