These are not connected with the Kregg as they are rather small and the pocket holes are a bit overkill. These are 37" X 19.5" (1.5" wide X .5" thick strips) and 24.75 X 13 (1" wide X .5" thick stripes). On these smaller flags I just glued and clamp the stripes before adding four back straps. I glue and staple the straps. The small size ran the issue of the wood splitting with the screws.

are you using the Kreg to connect the boards?  Do you have a picture of one of the backs and what size are the flags.  They look great, you are doing great work.
