This is my first attempt at buidling something. I learned to use a miter saw and my Kreg Jig! I used some poplar and recycled the glass top from an old TV stand. I plan to paint it and I bought some of the Kreg paint grade plugs but can't get them in the pocket holes. I tried sanding the sides of the plug but then they are way too long and don't seat correctly. Any suggestions? Oh....it was a lot of fun and I plan to build more!

Beautiful table.Your home furniture plays a vital role in making your style statement. End tables are an essential part of any well appointed home. Not only do they serve a vital function, serving as bookends to a furniture grouping, but they also allow table lamps to be strategically placed around the room.

Wow! thanks for all the feedback and the nice comments on my first build. I've had the Kreg Jig for a while and I've used it to mend some things like wobbly bookcases, etc. This is the first time I tried building something from scratch. I'm big on recycling if I can...it actually saves me money. I don't have a workshop so I don't have a lot of room to work. I pull the cover off my miter saw that I store on the floor in my dining area and move it to the porch. I use a fold-up work table for my Kreg and get busy! Now that I feel more confident with the miter saw I plan to make a few more things. Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement, gentlemen.

Hello there Chris, my my you have build a very nice table and even used some recycled glass.  That is commemdable in its self as it seems most want to buy new.  You have created something to be proud of,  and to think it is only your first build.  i agree with James about using a flush trim saw and cutting them off near the finish surface after you have glued them in and then sand them flush and paint or finish.    I like your design and size seeing that it  has the correct demensions for height, width and length and will make a very attractive addition to any room.  I must commend you on your first finished project as it is a job well done and deserving of praise.  Thank you for sharing your talent.

Thanks, James. I have a flush trim saw and will try that.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
