hehehe I'm just like you Mark- i don't like buying jigs or tools because they will save me time! If you can do it with a ruler and pencil, why the need for a jig? Nice bookcase...

Well I guess my problem must be not having square cuts. I seem to be off enough to cause a major misalignment not only from left to right, but front to back too. I ended up buying some shelving tracks. Then recessedd them with my router. Hope this works.

I layout and drill my holes prior to assembly. I use my speed square to draw the verictal line at a set distance from the edge. Next I use a tape measure to layout the hole locations. Then I drill with a bit that has a piece of tape for the depth. I do it this way because I am cheap and dont want to purchase a jig that is going to wear out. Because all jigs will eventually wear out from use.

Did you drill your shelf pin holes before or after you put it together?

Hey.. im trying to make a book shelf too. I have a jig that I purchased from rockler.com but I can't get the holes to line up on each side to save my life! I have a new ridgid r4510 table saw, and I made a wood sled, but I can't get it trued. So since the ends aren't square my shelf pin holes are way off.. any ideas or dirrection would be greatly appreciated.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
