Jim,
Great approach---
thanks for sharing.
That's correct Mike.
After about a month of drying the wood was ready to work with. I wanted the project to have a thick face and doors to give it a good heavy feel so I laminated pairs of boards together to make 1 1/2" thick boards them I ripped them to width and sliced about 3/16 off of one face on the table saw then ran it through the thickness planer to smooth the fresh surface then I sliced the other face and ran it through the planer to end up with 1" material. By doing this I didn't subject my planer to any dirt or stones that would damage or dull the cutters. It's a little more work but well worth it. If you look at the face frames you can make out the two board lamination.
very nice Jim,...
You made this from scrap skids ?...the ones pictued earlier in the photos ?

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
