How is the walnut project coming along?

Beautiful wainscoating, Brian!  Thanks for posting!

The stock for the whole project was 3/4" clear white pine.  Complete wall sections were Kreg joined together then the interior trim applied on the bench before paint and installation.  The reason for this is the margin between the face of the trim and the face of the frame.  Any discrepancies there would be far more noticeable than a slightly wider caulking joint to the wall.

The trim under the cap, and the baseboard were in stalled after the frames were screwed to the wall.  The frames were shimmed and screwed to keep everything straight and secure.  Brad nails are quick and convenient, but you will be painting and caulking to eternity.

Wait until I post the pictures of the wainscoat project I'm completing right now... it's all walnut!

Great work... did you use 1/2" stock?  I guess the trim inside each frame was applied after the frames are mounted to the wall?  Also - did you glue and nail the frames to the wall?  This is very similar to a project I have planned.... thanks for sharing the pics -  you've give me some fresh ideas.  Thanks!

I appreciate the complements, but can't accept any credit for the paint colours (canadian here), only the suggestion to accent the interior of the frames.  This picture doesn't show that off as well as the one with the window.

Well Brian it looks like you been a busy woodworker.  These look stunning and defiantley catch your eye to the detail of all of the panels and baseboards.  Very nice design and color is well picked making the white really show off the details of the craftsmanship.  Excellent job and I have to agree with you shop build and onsite install is the better way to go on some projects.  Thanks for showing your work.

These panels were Kreg'd together in the shop then installed on site in complete wall units.  This is so much faster and more accurate than the MDF "assembled on the wall" style.
